DECEMBER 19, 2021  

MESSAGE FOR THE HOLIDAYS:

The Focal Point Optician and the University of Mantioba will close for the holidays.

The Focal Point Optician will be closed from:

December 20th (at noon)

and reopen after the holidays on:

January 5

The University of Manitoba will be closed from December 20th ( noon) until January 4.

During our holiday closure, we ask that you do NOT leave a message, as there will be no one in the office from Dec 20th at noon to Jan 4, nor will anyone be checking messages.

If you are:

• immuno-compromised,

• have medical challenges

• or are 65 years or older,

we do not recommend routine eye exams at this time. We are not back to normal, therefore, there is still an added risk.

If you have an urgent eye issue outside of these office hours, please go the the Misericordia Hospital Urgent Care Center at 99 Cornish Ave and/or phone (204) 774-6581.

MUST call ahead if you are COVID-19 positive.

They continue to provide urgent care 24/7 for patients with urgent eye issues.

MAY 22, 2020:   

Due to COVID 19, The Focal Point Optician is open Monday through Friday 9-2 pm by appointment only.

We thank you for patience during this time.

Access is available only through the front doors on Chancellor Circle.

We will NOT be opening on Monday May the fourth as we are in the process of upgrading our safety standards to comply with Covid 19.

FYI we ordered the supplies, masks shields and PPE as well as sanitizer .

Just waiting for it to come in . Hopefully end of next week.

MARCH 1, 2020:

Please note that as of March 17, 2020, the office is CLOSED due to COVID-19 and we are unsure when it will reopen. You will not be able to access our office. We also have very limited access.

We will not be in the office, but are able to help you and answer questions regarding urgent eye issues remotely. Please note that we will attempt to answer calls and email messages between 10 am – 2 pm only, Monday to Friday.

Please be sure to give:

•  your name,

•  phone number,

•  the name of the doctor you saw (Dr. MacNeil or Dr. Soronow)   if your call is regarding an eye issue,

•  and a brief description of your eye or optical issue,

     so that your message can be triaged accordingly Wc have limited staff and will have limited access to your records.
